High Winds, Wintry Mix and Freezing Rain from Northwest to Midwest

High winds will span from the Northwest into the Midwest, with a wintry mix and pockets of snow. Expect freezing rain over the upper Midwest, thunderstorms for parts of the South, snow for portions of the Northeast.

High wind alerts from Northwest to Midwest

The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning of high winds that will span from the Northwest into the Midwest. The following alerts have been issued for Wednesday.

High wind warning: eastern Washington; southwest Oregon; northern California; northern Idaho; Montana; Wyoming; western North Dakota; western South Dakota; northern, east-central and northeastern Colorado; northwestern Kansas.

High wind watch: central North Dakota; central and eastern South Dakota; Nebraska; western and north central Kansas

Wind advisory: northeast Oregon; southeastern and northeastern Washington; northern, central and eastern Idaho; northwestern Montana; central Kansas.

Wintry mix from Northwest to Midwest, freezing rain warning

a wintry mix with pockets of snow will span from the Northwest into parts of the West and Midwest on Wednesday.

The wintry mix will include portions of: Washington, Oregon, northern California, Idaho, northern Nevada, northern and central Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Missouri.

Snow is possible over western Wyoming, eastern Idaho, northeastern Utah and northwestern Colorado.

The National Weather Service is warning of possible freezing rain over northeastern North Dakota, Minnesota, western Wisconsin, as well as Central and eastern Iowa.

Snow for parts of the Northeast

The NWS is forecasting snow over portions of the Northeast on Wednesday. Snow is forecast over northern Pennsylvania; southern and northern New York; northeastern Vermont. Mixed precipitation is forecast over southeastern Maine.

Thunderstorms, rain for the South

The NWS is forecasting thunderstorms will span across portions of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina on Wednesday. Rain his forecast for most of Florida, with the exception of the Panhandle.
