How to Help Victims of the California Wildfires

The wildfires in California have been burning for months and have destroyed countless homes, businesses, and land.

Thousands of people have been displaced since August and many have lost all of their personal belongings.

And, as firefighters work tirelessly to put out the flames, relief workers are on the ground trying to help those in need and provide assistance to victims.

If you’ve been wondering how you can help the victims of these devastating wildfires, there are great relief organizations out there that are looking for support.

Just a reminder, items like food and clothing may seem like great things to send, but it can actually overwhelm these organizations.

Instead, consider donating money to these specific organizations, who will provide people with what they need.

Red Cross

As many already know, the Red Cross provides food, shelter, and supplies to people affected by natural disasters.

You can make a donation on their website and, if you live in the area, you can sign up to be a volunteer.

Baby2Baby

Baby2Baby is giving diapers, wipes, cribs, and other baby items to families who have young children.

You can buy items off of the company’s Amazon registry or you can make a cash donation, whichever you prefer.

The California Community Foundation

This organization specifically helps communities that have been affected by these wildfires.

You can donate to their cause at https://www.calfund.org/wildfire-relief-fund/.

The California Fire Foundation

The California Fire Foundation hands out $250 gift cards to people who need basic things such as toiletries, food, or clothing.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department Foundation

In order to support the brave firefighters who are working tirelessly to put on these wildfires, consider donating to this organization.

It also supports paramedics and other people who are on the ground trying to make a difference.

Red Rover

While it’s important to provide relief for humans, it’s also important to make sure that the pets are OK too! Red Rover shelters and takes care of animals during natural disasters.

They also make sure they are reunited with their owners when it’s safe to do so.

Open Homes

This organization, which was created by Airbnb, gives victims of these wildfires and relief workers a safe place to stay.

If you’re interested in being a host to help out these victims, you can sign up at https://www.airbnb.com/openhomes/disaster-relief.

World Central Kitchen

World Central Kitchen is providing meals to those in need.
