An arctic front driven by strong winds, up to 65 mph in some areas, with heavy snow, brings blizzard conditions to the Midwest, heavy rain in the East prompts flood warnings, thunderstorms, and severe weather in the South.
Wednesday will bring a number of winter weather alerts across the US, particularly for the upper Midwest which will see blizzard conditions.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a combination of flood watches, flash flood watches, and Lakeshore flood warnings for parts of the mid-Atlantic in the Northeast on Wednesday.
The affected areas include: northern Virginia; eastern West Virginia; Washington, D.C.; Delaware; central Maryland; northwestern New Jersey; central, eastern and northeastern Pennsylvania; south-central and eastern New York; western New England areas; southern Vermont.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has forecast thunderstorms over the South spanning through eastern Texas into Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Western Georgia and Florida. Rain is also forecast for southeastern Florida.
Along the Gulf Coast, from Louisiana to Mississippi, the NWS has issued a warning over potential severe weather and strong thunderstorms.
In the East, rain is forecast throughout the southeast from northern Georgia and South Carolina into the mid-South, Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic.
